The Phantom Voice
Good luck class of 2017!
The internet has become such a huge factor in our everyday lives. It connects us and allows us to communicate and socialize each other like never before. Different ideas can be expressed and spread as well with the internet, but it also comes with negatives. People are disconnecting from their everyday lives and spending more time on their phones doing things like browsing the web.
Although we spend more times on our phones every day than we engage in most other activities, I thinks kids are actually getting smarter. Now this may be an unpopular opinion but I think that increased time on the internet could allow children to know anything they need to know whenever they want. Without the internet, questions that children may have about school subjects may go unanswered. Children can now access any information they need in a fraction of the time it would take without the internet.
When teachers see kids on their phone they most likely associate that with texting or games, but that is not always the case. Kids need their phones to access information. I know I would most likely be failing half of my classes if I didn't look up information to help me with a question occasionally. People can have their own opinions about kids and the internet but I know where I stand. The internet has helped me with my classes and I believe I am smarter because of it.
