The Phantom Voice
Good luck class of 2017!
Recently, the console versions of Minecraft have received a new title update, specifically TU 53. This update brought mainly changes to the “Glide” minigame, but unbeknownst to some some players, a couple bad changes were made, and this would affect them very greatly! So I bet you're wondering, what were those changes that were so drastic? Well, i’ll tell you, these changes affected mostly the OTHER two minigames being that some block properties have been changed to act much different than before. I'll give you an example of what I mean: So i'm playing a map in “Battle” Minigames where slime blocks are conveniently hidden for players to land on safely, but instead now landing on slime blocks always makes me take fall damage no matter what harmful height I jump from. The same problem occurs for me when jumping into one block-deep water, for I still take fall damage, no matter what harmful height I jump from. These changes completely make waste of what my once good strategies were, and it’s has discouraged me from playing Battle because of these new properties of those blocks. So now I mostly play the “Tumble” minigame, but some problems still occur in this game mode too! Here are the two problems: First, Occasionally when playing shovels, the lowest level of the stage always makes the “Falling down” noise when jumping onto it, and it gets a bit annoying after playing for a while. The next problem is very rare, but very bad: When spawning in on a stage, there's a chance that the stage won't load in, and most players will fall into lava immediately, while a few players land on invisible blocks, which is very unfair to those who are trying to win, but someone else getting the win can really impact them.
I would also like to suggest an idea involving the host’s ability to kick people from their game in Minigames. This is my idea: If the host has constantly been kicking people, their name would appear a different color than the others, signifying to the other players that the host might not be a good sport, and to not stay too long. The same thing should apply to those who constantly quit in the middle of matches. This would give more power to the players who just want to play battle, but don’t want to deal with sore losers/winners. I find to come across these people EVERYDAY, because many people get upset when I kill them, which is what I’m supposed to do, being that its BATTLE. Whether it’s killing them first, or even killing one of their teammates if the player decides to team. This also applies to the other minigames, being that many people get upset if they don’t win, especially the host. By adding this feature, those players who don’t act pleasantly will be encouraged to quit less and kick less. I feel this idea would make Minigames better for everyone!
