The Phantom Voice
This basketball season has been a major success for the BBP boys basketball team. We finished our regular season with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. Personally, I believe that we should have went 15-1 because we had two ugly losses to Mount Sinai and Wyndanch, then one close game with Amityville until our starting point guard got hurt and was taken out of the game at half-time. But things like this happen to every team and we can not complain because we still got second place in our league. As playoffs came and gone, we were ranked in the 5th seed between our league and one other league. We should have been ranked third because our league was much more competitive than the other but at the conference they decided not to give it to us.
Our first playoff game was against Kings Park High School. We all went in thinking we were going to win the game but we were wrong. When the game started we had a lead of about 6 points at the end of the first quarter. Then at half we had a 5 point lead of 28-23 which was lower then expected but it was still a lead. It was a very low scoring game for both teams. At the end of the game we were up 61-59 and with 1 second on the clock one of their players hits a floater to send the game to overtime. As overtime came to an end we were losing and could not come back. We lost in a heartbreaker 76-73 in overtime. It was a very upsetting loss but even though our season was over we cannot forget it happened. We had a great season and a lot of fun throughout the process. I can not wait for next year.
