The Phantom Voice
the phantom Voice
On Tuesday February 13th, Bayport - Blue Point hosted our 4th annual ‘Red Watch Band’ program. The event was sponsored by the SADD club, the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library and the Great South Bay Coalition. Students had the amazing opportunity to learn life saving skills.
The program was instructed by Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kimberly Hession and Certified CPR Instructor/ clinical coordinator for Hofstra University Athletic Training Education Program, Kristin LoNigro. The Bayport-Blue Point Public Library provided the instructors, and BBP High School couldn't thank them and Mr.Firestone enough for the generous deed and thoughtful consideration. The two guided students as they learned CPR/AED and how to recognize an emergency situation. Following the course, the Great South Bay Coalition provided a pizza dinner for the newly certified students. Students were very satisfied and happy with their achievements that night; they received their Red Bands, CPR cards, Certificates and the awareness that will last a lifetime.
Being in a situation where someone's life is at risk is extremely scary. But thanks to the ‘Red Watch Band’, BBP High School Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to successfully assess and solve the issue.
