On February 14th, 2018, a heavily armed young man named Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killing 17 people (including students, teachers, etc.). Nikolas Cruz used to be student at that high school and was expelled for disciplinary reasons. He also posted disturbing material on his social media before the shooting happened. According to his teachers, many of them said that Nikolas Cruz’s problems started as early as Middle School and then quickly intensified. There were vocal outbursts, disturbing drawings with guns, and constant disciplinary issues. Teachers were very concerned about him and were working with him to get help. When Nikolas Cruz arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, he took out his semi automatic AR-15 assault rifle, pulled the fire alarm (so that students and teachers would leave their classrooms), and then started the deadliest school shooting in Modern U.S History. He then dropped the rifle on the floor and started running away to blend in with the other students. Several students said they found it strange to hear the fire alarm go off because they already had a fire drill earlier that day. Nikolas Cruz walked to Subway to buy a drink then he went to McDonalds and acted like nothing happened. After he walked out of McDonalds, the police found him and put him into Custody.
